How to Eyebrow Wax

Waxing for some women, is preferable to plucking for various reasons. What you have to remember, is that both procedures are going to smart a little, and that the hair will grow back at approximately the same rate, in anywhere from 8-10weeks.

At that time you will need to decide whether to wax as soon as hair reappears, or wait until it is long enough to be removable with wax. If you have particularly thick eyebrow hairs, the re-growth process can be painfully obvious, making it difficult to hide them under eyebrow powder or other coloring.

Anyone can wax their eyebrows, unless they are extremely sensitive, in which case you might want to opt for a professional job, or other method. An astringent to clean and de-sensitive the area first, is a good idea. Waxes are available commercially, that can be heated inside a pot of water to soften it. It should then be applied to the areas that you want hair removed from, in the direction the hair grows. But do not let it dry! After using an application spatula or brush to control the extent of the waxing, immediately lay a small strip of material (muslin is preferred) on top of the waxed area. Pull the skin taut with one hand, and use the other to lift the end of the strip, and remove it quickly in the opposite direction to which the hair grows.

After you are done, avoid make-up, creams, or sun exposure until the skin is less irritated.
